Merchants¶
The Merchant module is the “trading QoL + balance” part of Villager Overhaul.
It’s built around one idea:
- You can get the trade you want, without breaking/placing a lectern 9000 times…
- …but you pay for it, and the server can rebalance everything.
Features¶
- Manual rerolls: reroll a villager’s offers for a cost.
- Lock trades: protect specific offers so they never change.
- Auto-search: request one or more items and let the villager reroll in the background.
- Auto-trade: repeat certain trades automatically (quality of life).
- Merchant stats: each villager gets 4 trading-related stats.
Quick start¶
- Recruit a villager.
- Open the trade screen.
- Left-click the reroll button to reroll.
- Right-click an offer row to lock/unlock it.
- Right-click the reroll button to open the Auto-search catalog.
Ownership & server rules¶
Merchant controls are server-authoritative:
- Only the recruiting player can use merchant controls on that villager.
- Server config can rebalance costs, cooldowns, and limits.
- Servers can disable the entire Merchant module.
